Player index

The players page tracks per-player form for the names our readers search for most. Each entry covers the recent form index, the role the player holds in the side, and the value pick — is the player over-owned or under-owned for the upcoming fixture?

Form index

How the desk reads a player's form

Form is the last five innings weighted more heavily than career numbers. For a batter, the desk tracks runs, strike rate, dot-ball percentage and matchup-specific splits against pace and spin. For a bowler, wickets, economy, dot-ball percentage and venue-specific economy. A player who averaged 35 last season but 22 in the recent run is the form read that matters for fantasy contests.

The form index never claims to predict the next innings. It surfaces the recent record so the reader can combine it with the pitch report and the contest format before lock-in.

FAQ

Players, answered

How do you decide which players to cover?

We cover the names our readers search for most. Coverage expands during tournament windows — T20 World Cup, Asia Cup and IPL.

Where can I see player averages?

The desk does not publish career averages as a substitute for the recent form index. We weight the last five innings more heavily than career numbers.

Can I copy a player's XI directly?

You can, but always confirm on the official platform before lock-in. The desk's reads are an editorial view, not a recommendation.
